CONSIDERATIONS FOR NEURODEVELOPMENTAL DISORDERS
Neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), social communication disorder, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), carry with them the possibility of treatment with medication. What’s more, these diagnoses emerge in childhood. Medications may have powerful effects and even more powerful side effects. Although every diagnosis may be life altering, those where medication is prescribed make accurate diagnosing of mental disorders especially important.
In this Discussion, you consider another aspect of the role of differentiation and accuracy in diagnosis.
