Criminal Justice Question

In your critique, you should include your assessment of each of the following
components:
I. General Research Question/Hypotheses (what are the researchers studying and
why do they state it is an important topic of interest?)

II. Literature Review (did the studies the authors cited provide an adequate
empirical framework for their own study? What do they state about what is
currently know about the topic? What theories guided their study?)

III. Methodology
A. Discuss the variables utilized in the study (independent and dependent,
how were they operationalized?)
B. Research Design (including strengths and weaknesses)
C. Sampling procedure & units of analysis (including the subjects studied &
whether their sample would be generalizable)

IV. Analyses (what statistical techniques did the authors use)

V. Results / Findings (what did they find? Were the hypotheses supported?)

VI. Discussion and Conclusion (What is the value of this research for the field?
Are there any limitations to this research? What implications does this article
have for policy and practice? What additional research must be done?
