Introduction 

The purpose of this assignment is practice formatting text in order to create visual hierarchy and improve readability of text. This assignment focuses on methods and techniques used to achieve visual hierarchy including: size, weight, color, position and type contrast.

This assignment fulfills Module Outcomes:

Explored reading patterns

Identified what is Visual Hierarchy and methods to achieve hierarchy

Identified the differences between paragraph and character styles

Correctly saved styles as either paragraph or character styles

Practiced creating nested styles

Applied styles successfully

Complete all three (3) parts of this assignment.
 

• Gym Class Schedule (Part 1)
  In the folder you will find a word document that includes all the text you need work with. You also have an InDesign document “shell”. In this InDesign document, you will need to paste the text provided in the word document and format the text so that visual hierarchy is established. 
• As appropriate, create paragraph and character styles from the text attributes you established in your design. You should have a style set up for each type of text attribute (ie: a style for class name, a style for class description, etc.) Successfully apply throughout your document. I should be able to highlight any text in your document and see that an appropriate style has been applied. Once completed, package your InDesign file and compress to a zip file to submit to blackboard.
• Farm Fresh & Jacob Austen Resume (Part 2 & 3)
• For these two, you are provided text and an image (for Farm Fresh). Create an 8.5×11 with .25″ margins for each of these, copy and paste the text provided into your document, and create a layout that incorporates strong visual hierarchy and appropriate use of character and paragraph styles.
