Health IT System Flowchart

As an informatics specialist, you will be continuously looking for methods to improve the systems and useability within your organization.

Select a health care organization that you work for currently, have worked for in the past, or are familiar with and can research online. Then select a clinically-focused health IT system (e.g., electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support, e-prescribing/eRx, etc.) that you want to implement in your health care organization. You will use this chosen organization and health IT system in your other assignments throughout the course and this project plan will be the basis for next week’s assessment.

Create a flowchart that illustrates a high-level project plan to implement your selected health IT system in your health care organization. Include the following stages:

• Initiation
• Project Planning
• Analysis
• Design
• Build
• Testing
• Training
• Activation (Go Live)
• Post Activation
