Technology is frequently viewed as the cornerstone for obtaining a competitive edge in business in today’s rapidly changing digital economy. But as cloud services and other technologies become more widely used, it becomes evident that technology alone cannot provide a sustainable advantage. Reflecting on the article’s insights, technology is more of an enabler than the sole driver of business success (Jupudi, 2021). This idea aligns with my experiences designing video game characters and doing advertising, where the actual value is not in the technology per se but in how it can be used to inspire creativity, create gripping tales, and captivate viewers.

Because technology is so widely available, its application needs to change to consider ethics. This translates into maintaining inclusivity, safeguarding privacy, and respecting intellectual property in my line of work. Whether it’s designing gaming characters that do not reinforce stereotypes or producing advertising that accurately depicts things without deceiving consumers, ethical practice in the use of technology is crucial. Ethical obligations accompany the democratization of technology. I do believe that companies and artists must use technological innovations with a strong moral compass and embrace them. As a result, their inventions are guaranteed to advance society while also pushing the frontier of what is conceivable (Martin et al., 2022).

So technology gives us the means to innovate and transform, but the real competitive edge lies in applying it sensibly and imaginatively to create experiences that are distinct and significant. This approach is guided by leadership, culture, and vision, which guarantees that technology is used as a tool for long-term company growth and societal good rather than as a means to a goal. This well-rounded approach is essential in a society where everyone has access to technology, but leaders set themselves apart from followers by making ethical and successful use of it.
